Who we are:

We’re your neighbors - and we want to go back to the basics - real food, handmade things, and local availability. Vegetables shouldn’t be coated in chemicals or shipped in from a different country - they should be local, safe to eat, and grown in nutrient dense soil.

While we aren’t certified as Organic by the USDA, but I would argue we’re better than that - We do not use any chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, antimicrobial sprays, or other hazardous substances in our farming. We compost, use dead leaves and grass clippings, and fertilize (rarely - when needed) with kelp meal, blood meal and bone meal - all organic stuff. We companion plant to ward off pests naturally, and might spray the occasional baking soda or cayenne pepper mixture on the plants to deter hungry critters, but that’s it. We also don’t use plastic weed barriers that can break down and contaminate the soil.

We don’t mass produce, we touch every crop and tend to them by hand. They are all planted from seed. This is why supply might be inconsistent or variable throughout the year. Sometimes we won’t have much, other times we’ll have a lot. It all depends on the weather, seasons, or how the plants feel on any particular day.

Our aim isn’t to be a massive farm - We don’t have acres of corn, or acres of wheat, or any other mono-crops. We have patches of veggies all over, and many different types, to create a well-rounded diverse plant ecosystem. The goal is to grow and provide real food, things that nourish your body, not commodity crops that are largely used in processed foods.

In a perfect world, lots of people would do what we do - tons of small farms who do things the old fashioned way - or just lots of backyard gardens. That’s how we fix a broken food system. Until then we’ll just continue to do what we do and spread then word!

We’re also eager and willing to help you with any information needed to start your own garden - just ask!
